Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska are part of an emerging “extreme heat belt” that could deliver more scorching days within 30 years. Currently, there is no coordinated strategy in place to ensure the safety of homes during these dangerously high temperatures. As temperatures start to cool in September, it’s easy to overlook the scorching heat of the month before.
