Training and Capacity Building: The Midwest Consortium for Hazardous Waste Worker Training (MWC) facilitates adult-based, action-oriented, results-centered worker and community training. Their goal is to enhance the capacity of workers to improve health and safety in their workplaces.

Regional Presence: The MWC operates in 9 states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Diverse Training Centers: The MWC comprises 13 training centers, including labor-affiliated programs, major universities, community colleges, an historically black university, a national youth training organization, a tribal nation, and several community-based organizations.

Long-standing Experience: The trainers at MWC centers have trained hundreds of thousands of workers since 1987, demonstrating significant impacts in the field.

Hazardous Waste Worker Training Program (HWWTP): This program aims to protect and improve the health and safety of various workers and community members by building their capacity to identify and remediate hazards. They also focus on preparedness for natural disasters and other emergencies.
