Richard Holbrook – GCOHC Board Member at Large and Membership Development – Business Agent, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 212
Richard is a proud Member of the IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoys working with diverse groups of people in unique environments. He finds it satisfying to work with his hands day in and day out along side other Union members to produce a quality electrical installation. He also enjoys giving back to his Union that he feels “gave me so much,” and is always looking for new ways to get Local 212 involved in local communities.
Among the man accolades Richard has earned is his role as Membership Development – Inside Construction Organizer, represent electrical workers, increase job opportunities for members, recruitment of Electrical Contractors, recruitment of Electricians, promote the IBEW, political engagement, community outreach, social media, fund raising, monitor upcoming projects, educate members about our wages and benefits
As Inside Journeyman Wireman his job duties are to layout, assemble, install, repair, and test entire electrical and electronic systems. The projects he works on are mostly commercial and industrial ranging from elementary schools to nuclear powerhouses. As a Journeyman Electrician, he has a complete working knowledge of reading blueprints, the National Electric Code and all local codes which makes him highly skilled for at identifying workplace hazards.
